Bridging Systems, Building Trust: Advancing Water, Energy, Innovation and Sustainable Cities through Coordinated Policy Actions.

This dialogue is made possible by the UN Peace and Development Trust Fund . With only four years remaining to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, countries face mounting pressures, from climate impacts and demographic shifts to widening inequalities and eroding public trust, that threaten to slow or reverse progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Yet this moment also presents an opportunity to reimagine policy approaches, strengthen social foundations and accelerate transformative change.    On the 80th anniversary of the signing of the charter of the United Nations, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) convenes a Global Policy Dialogue, " Charting New Directions: Shaping the Future of Sustainable Development. " Here, members of the UN High-level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs (HLAB) will explore different avenues for achieving and maintaining inclusive, sustainable, and forward-looking development towards and beyond 2030. In three thematic panels, leading experts will share insights on reimagining economics to foster social inclusion , identify emerging trends that will shape the decades ahead, and envision the future of sustainable development in light of global transformations . The event seeks to showcase how global cooperation can accelerate progress, strengthen resilience, and ensure that no one is left behind. Accelerating Social Progress to Boost SDG Implementation: A UN DESA Global Policy Dialogue.

This dialogue is made possible by the UN Peace and Development Trust Fund. UN DESA will organize a Global Policy Dialogue on the sidelines of HLPF exploring how we can guide integrated policy solutions to advance several of the SDGs under review at this year's High-level Political Forum: SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Drawing on the insights of experts including members of the UN High-level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs (HLAB), the event will feature two high-level panel discussions, interactive polls and audience Q&A.
