With the successful conclusion of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), the global community now has a critical opportunity to implement the Compromiso de Sevilla and advance a feminist, gender-transformative financing agenda. The conference marked a turning point in integrating gender equality into development finance, reinforcing that a gender-blind approach is no longer acceptable. To move forward, action must focus on three key areas: - Reforming the international financial architecture : Concrete steps must be taken to achieve gender parity in decision-making spaces, particularly within Multilateral Development Banks and international financial institutions.     This side-event aims to address barriers faced by women and youth in all their diversity in accessing and equally benefitting from labour markets and entrepreneurial avenues. It will also highlight the role of inclusive trade, showcasing initiatives aiming to foster regional trade to contribute to sustainable development.    This event marks the official launch of the Policy Brief, advocating for gender indicators as fundamental for an inclusive, just, and effective energy transition. The UNDESA-led multi-stakeholder SDG 7 Technical Advisory Group, co-chaired by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ENERGIA, has developed a Policy Brief titled "Gender Indicators for Sustainable Energy: A Call to Action." This significant effort, led by the SDG 7 custodian agencies (IEA, ENERGIA, ESMAP/World Bank, UNSD, WHO), UN Women, and the co-conveners of the Gender & Energy Compact (UNIDO, ENERGIA, SEforALL, GWNET), will contribute to the final review of SDG 5 at the 2025 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) this July, as well as the review of SDG 7 at the HLPF in 2026.
