World Development Information Day

This dialogue is made possible by the UN Peace and Development Trust Fund . With only four years remaining to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, countries face mounting pressures, from climate impacts and demographic shifts to widening inequalities and eroding public trust, that threaten to slow or reverse progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Yet this moment also presents an opportunity to reimagine policy approaches, strengthen social foundations and accelerate transformative change. Hybrid press briefing on the Sustainable Development Goals Report 2026, which will be launched by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, along with UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua and Acting Director of the Statistics Division in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs Shantanu Mukherjee. The annual report reviews progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development utilizing the latest available data and estimates assessing progress on each Goal and its associated targets. The Country-led Dialogues aim to: create space for INFF-implementing countries and Member States to share feedback on INFF implementation and progress on Sevilla commitments; and allow INFF partners and the INFF Facility to update on how they are responding to country demand and priority requests going forward. No performance or film screening is planned. The event is part of the follow-up to the Sevilla Commitment (FfD4) and supports the mandate to scale up country support on Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs). The INFF Facility is currently the only global mechanism providing coordinated, direct support to countries on INFF implementation. With less than six years remaining to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the world must urgently accelerate progress.
