This Sevilla Platform for Action announcement will cover two initiatives - Global Hub for Debt Swaps for Development and Debt Pause Clause Alliance. Global Hub for Debt Swaps for Development: This initiative aims to establish a Global Hub for Debt Swaps to improve the design and implementation of debt swaps, and increase potential for scale up. Two years after the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact (June 23-24, 2023) which established the Pact for Prosperity People and the Planet (4P), the international community will convene for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD-4) , taking place in Seville from June 30 to July 3, 2025. Against a challenging backdrop: rising geopolitical tensions, mounting pressure on multilateral cooperation, financial constraints facing traditional development co-operation providers, and resulting cuts in funding for international solidarity and the fight against the triple global crisis, the international community is meeting in Sevilla to define new principles for development financing.
