G20 meeting under the South African leadership scheduled during the High-level week of the GA 80th Session. The role of the G20 in creating the foundation for global economic stability, a vital catalyst for economic development and implementing consequential global commitments such as the Pact for the Future and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Agenda 2030) cannot be overstated. South Africa will hold the G20 Presidency from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025, only five years before the deadline of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda. To tackle the global polycrisis, South Africa has embraced the theme " Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability " for its G20 Presidency. The high-level deliverables and priorities under this theme, lie at the core of the original G20 mandate of promoting Strong, Sustainable, Balanced and Inclusive Growth. Related site: G20 Website . Youth2030 Forward: Advancing progress and scaling through shared learning (HLPF 2025 Side Event).

Youth2030 Forward will serve as a key moment for reflection, learning, and collective action, spotlighting impactful field initiatives and charting the course for the second phase of Youth2030. The United Nations Youth Office, in collaboration with Permanent Missions of Costa Rica, Denmark, Kazakhstan, and youth networks, ICMYO, MGCY and Young UN, will bring together government representatives alongside young people and UN system representatives. A major highlight of the high-level event will be the launch of the 2025 Progress Report on Youth2030, offering critical insights into achievements and challenges at the strategy's midpoint. The Office will also unveil new initiative(s) designed to accelerate implementation, support SDG progress , and promote meaningful youth participation in national policy-making —particularly in alignment with the Pact for the Future.
