This round table will examine how to reform global financial system to make it more inclusive, stable, and responsive to today's challenges. The discussion will look at how global financial institutions can be made more representative and effective in supporting sustainable development. Discussions will focus on ensuring that governance arrangements in international financial institutions reflect the evolving global landscape and provide greater voice and representation for developing countries. Participants will examine gaps in the global financial safety net and explore solutions for enhancing access to financing, particularly for vulnerable countries. Additionally, the roundtable will consider how financial regulatory frameworks can better respond to emerging risks and innovations, and assess the role of private credit ratings in shaping financial markets. Two years after the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact (June 23-24, 2023) which established the Pact for Prosperity People and the Planet (4P), the international community will convene for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD-4) , taking place in Seville from June 30 to July 3, 2025. Against a challenging backdrop: rising geopolitical tensions, mounting pressure on multilateral cooperation, financial constraints facing traditional development co-operation providers, and resulting cuts in funding for international solidarity and the fight against the triple global crisis, the international community is meeting in Sevilla to define new principles for development financing.     The President of the Government of Spain and the United Nations Secretary-General will hold a press conference on the opening day of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Sevilla, where world leaders, international financial institutions, civil society and private sector representatives are convening from 30 June to 3 July to commit to a renewed global framework to mobilize finance at scale and reform the rules of the system to put people's needs at the center.
