The eighty-second session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from 20 to 24 April 2026. Guided by the theme " Leaving no one behind: advancing a society for all ages in Asia and the Pacific ", the session will provide a platform to discuss current and emerging demographic trends and socioeconomic priorities, including decent work, full and productive employment across age groups, healthy and active ageing, women's economic empowerment, the future of care and overall social integration. Empowered Women, Inclusive Economies: Catalyzing Sustainable Futures at the HLPF 2025 (HLPF 2025 Side Event).

    This side-event aims to address barriers faced by women and youth in all their diversity in accessing and equally benefitting from labour markets and entrepreneurial avenues. It will also highlight the role of inclusive trade, showcasing initiatives aiming to foster regional trade to contribute to sustainable development. Discussions at the event will explore policies, institutional and multi-stakeholder strategies to advance SDGs 5 and 8, ensuring productive employment, decent work and equal pay for work of equal value. Expected outcomes include stronger advocacy, knowledge sharing, policy recommendations, and innovative partnerships to boost women's economic empowerment within the 2030 Agenda.
