Multi-stakeholder round table 5: "Realizing a development-oriented sovereign debt architecture" - 4th International Conference on Financing for Development FFD4.


This round table will focus on building a fairer and more effective global approach to sovereign debt management.

The session will address ongoing challenges and short, medium and long-term solutions to debt sustainability, particularly for developing countries. Participants will explore how to reform global debt frameworks to make them more efficient, predictable, and responsive to development needs. The discussion will aim to explore solutions for establishing a development-oriented debt framework that encourages responsible borrowing and lending, reduces the cost of capital, enhances fiscal space, and ensures that debt restructurings are efficient, fair, predictable, and coordinated.
