Realizing a Borrowers Forum, Press Conference - 4th International Conference on Financing for Development FFD4.

Guests will brief on the new Borrowers Forum initiative at the FFD4 Conference.

At the FFD4 Conference, UNCTAD and partners will spotlight solutions and the urgent political will needed to act. The event will highlight a major commitment under the "Compromiso de Sevilla": the establishment of a Borrowers' Forum, supported by the UN as secretariat. This is also a key proposal from the UN Secretary-General's Expert Group on Debt.

This briefing will emphasize the UN's firm commitment to support the member-state initiative and outline how the forum will be structured to deliver on its promise of fairer global financial rules and enhanced representation for borrower countries.
