Opening and High-level Policy Segment - Regional Forum 2026.


The 2026 Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (#RFSD2026) for the ECE region will convene in Geneva on 21-22 April 2026, under the theme: Transforming Together: Innovative and Equitable Actions for the SDGs As the end date of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development approaches, the Forum aims to accelerate and coordinate actions towards the SDGs and maintain the momentum for innovative policies and solutions.

HIGH-LEVEL POLICY SEGMENT

Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals in the UNECE region for a sustainable future for all

With less than five years remaining until the target date of the 2030 Agenda, the discussion will take stock of recent progress, success stories by member States, and challenges in policy implementation, with particular emphasis on the SDGs under in-depth review.

Introduction of the Key Findings of the 2026 UNECE SDG Progress Report: Mr. Andres Vikat, Chief, Social and Demographic Statistics Section, UNECE Statistical Division

High-level representatives, intervening in protocol order, and delegations will have the opportunity to deliver national statements. Speakers from other stakeholders will be interspersed to provide additional perspectives. The segment will also feature reporting back from preparatory consultations by parliamentarians, civil society and youth, and time permitting, interventions by other stakeholder groups and organizations.
